NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND- The Newport Gulls are proud to announce the 2024 Promotional Calendar. Since 2001, the Newport Gulls have strived to accomplish the mission of benefiting the community of Newport County while preparing collegiate student-athletes for the next step in their personal and professional lives. This mission has been accomplished through community programming developed over the course of the team’s history. Each year, the Gulls Board of Directors, led by General Manager Chuck Paiva, and the team’s Director of Baseball Operations, Mike Falcone, set a goal to “Raise the Bar” when it comes to the facet of the operation.

Falcone stated, “It is all about the community. The Board has done a great job connecting us with so many tremendous organizations in the area.” Falcone also spoke on how great it is seeing Cardines packed night in and night out. “There is nothing better than seeing the fans and community come out and enjoy a night at the ballpark, and these promotional nights make it that much more enjoyable.” Paiva added, “Each night is a unique event, that in partnership with sponsors, helps create memories and an atmosphere unlike any other in summer baseball.”

The season kicks off on Wednesday, June 5 with University Orthopedics Opening Night. This is the third year in a row that University has supported Opening Night and the tradition of giving the first 1,000 fans a Magnet Schedule continues, courtesy of Aquidneck Pizza

Friday, June 7, is one of the biggest nights of the summer. It is Newport This Week and A1 Roofing Little League Night.  All children wearing their little league uniforms are offered free admission and join the Gulls on the field during the pre-game ceremony.

On Wednesday June 12, the Gulls partner with Stop and Shop for a food drive that benefits the Food Pantry at Rogers High School. The Gulls kindly ask the fans to bring a non-perishable food item to gain FREE admission to the game.

Navigant Credit Union and NOSOLO team up for Mental Health Awareness Night on Friday, June 21. This will be an extremely special night at the ballpark, shedding much necessary light on the importance mental health and stopping the stigma. 250 branded bracelets will be given out to the first 250 fans, among other custom swag being available to raise money for the Rhode Island chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

July kicks off with a bang. Monday, July 1, Steven DiCenso and West Davisville Commons support the fan-favorite Mascot Night. This is a night full of fun that includes mascots from all over New England coming down to Cardines. The first 250 kids at the ballpark will receive a Free T-Shirt courtesy of Horan Building Co.

For the fourth summer in a row, Newport partners with the Red Sox Foundation to present a full-day event for kids with baseball, food, and the Gulls game. During the day, the Red Sox Foundation will be holding their Play Ball Event at Cardines, a free clinic, and participants are invited back in the evening to attend the Gulls game with complimentary tickets. This will all take place on Friday, July 5.

The following Monday, July 8, will be TD Bank Inclusion Night. Another powerful evening, this event allows individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to join the Gulls at the park for a field day and enjoy the game later that night. Hasbro donates toys which are given to the many participants in the evening.

As the season progresses later into July and towards playoffs, the big nights continue! The Gulls welcome Rhode Island FC, the Ocean State’s newest professional sports team, to the ballpark on Friday, July 12. They will be handing out 300 Free RIFC Clap Banners.

Wednesday, July 17, SEACORP helps celebrate military personnel with Military Appreciation Night. Once again, military, past, present, civilian, or others involved in the armed forces will gain Free Admission to the game. The Gulls honor Police, Fire, and EMT on American Heroes Night Friday, July 19, granting free admission for those who protect our community, courtesy of Yalanis Wealth Management.

These are just a few of the 22 amazing events the Gulls will present this summer with the assistance of their wonderful group of sponsors. As a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization, sponsorships are the Gulls lifeblood. The organization is truly grateful for the companies and businesses that help support the Club each summer.
